OUR NEIGHBOURS
Shaw’s Quarry and Cleanfill site is located on a busy road with several neighbours. Your assistance in helping us be a good neighbour is much appreciated. Please consider the following when planning to use our site.
- No engine braking for 2km either side of the Quarry entrance
- Take care when entering and exiting the internal road
- Watch for cyclists and horses
FIELDAYS
When accessing a property on Mystery Creek Road, there shall be no use of heavy vehicles to cart material into or out of the site before 10:00am or after 2:00pm from Wednesday through to Friday (inclusive), and by appointment only before 10:00am or after 12noon on Saturday during the Annual Mystery Creek
Fieldays Week. Refer to travel plan below
LOADSCAN
To use the Loadscan, your truck/trailer needs to be in the system. On the first arrival to the quarry, you are required to scan empty, then a member of the team will load your details into the system. After the initial visit, you will be able to enter your license plate details to identify your truck/trailer
HEALTH & SAFETY
The Health & Safety of our customers and staff is our upmost priority. Customers must follow all Health & Safety instructions while onsite. Please take note of Speed (20km) and safety signs. Switch to CB channel 9 on arrival and follow all instructions from the quarry operator. Do not enter exclusion zones. All incidents/ accidents/near miss must be reported to the quarry operator ASAP
CLEANFILL GENERAL
Customers must adhere to the Shaw’s Quarry and Cleanfill acceptance criteria as set out below. By entering Shaw’s Quarry and Cleanfill, customers are declaring and warranting that the material they carry meets our acceptance criteria.
Shaw’s Quarry is a Class 5 disposal facility under the Waste Minimisation Act 2008, this means a facility that accepts only virgin excavated natural material such as clay, soil, or rock, for disposal.
Acceptance of any material at Kaipaki Quarry and Cleanfill is at the discretion of the Quarry Manager and
Operators. Shaw’s reserves the right to decline entry to any loads not meeting the acceptance criteria set
out below. If a load that has entered the Shaw’s Quarry and Cleanfill is subsequently determined to be noncompliant with acceptance criteria, it is to be removed from the site immediately. Customers will be responsible for removal and disposal of the materials and all associated costs.
ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA
Materials that CANNOT be brought onto the Shaw’s Quarry & Cleanfill site include, but are not limited to:
- Materials that may present a risk to human or animal health such as medical waste, radioactive waste, asbestos or hazardous materials
- Cables, carpet, containers, electrical insulation, household waste, wet paint, wet or dry lead-based paint, plastics
- Contaminated soils, material containing hydrocarbons, dredging spoil, laminated wood, treated wood, separated metals, tar and tyres
- Hydro excavated waste/fill
- Non incidental amounts of concrete, ashphalt, and other non virgin material.
